Healthy Bones Week: A New Initiative By Nutrition Australia.

As more than two million Australians are affected by osteoporosis, Nutrition Australia is celebrating healthy bones week to spread an awareness regarding increasing calcium in the diet. According to Nutrition Australia, Healthy Bones Week is an important reminder of the need of calcium in our diet to keep healthy bones.
Australians are being motivated to keep healthy bones by eating a breakfast which has rich calcium content, as a recent study that showed that people who skip breakfast are less likely to meet their bodily requirements for dairy products including milk, cheese and yoghurt. Three serves of dairy foods every day can provide most of the Australians the necessary calcium needed to build and maintain healthy bones. Calcium is also obtained from canned fish, nuts, leafy green vegetables and dryfruits.
